'Istanbul, a universal beauty where poet and archeologist, diplomat and merchant, princess and sailor, northerner and westerner screams with same admiration. The whole world thinks that this city is the most beautiful place on earth'

Edmondo De Amicis

Istanbul....Constantinople.... The very names conjure up images of an ancient civilisation, of East meeting West, of an unimaginably exotic land.

We invite you to step back to the days of Ottoman rule in Istanbul, home to famous landmarks such as Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque.

Istanbul is undoubtedly one of the world’s great cities. Straddling the Bosphorus dividing Europe and Asia, it’s a captivating mix of Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman influences.

We will meander along narrow cobbled streets in search of the minaret-studded Blue Mosque. Enjoy Hagia Sophia and its intricately beautiful mosaics,  and explore  Topkapi Palace’s warren of elaborately tiled rooms arranged around a beautiful Turkish bath.

We have chosen the dates carefully - we can reasonably expect 7 hours of sun a day and an average temperature of 15C. A perfect way to wave goodbye to the last vestiges of winter.
